Hey Cougarman, did the boat in post#72 and #73 come out of Chicago few years ago? It was originally build for racing. After one season out on the race corse partnership went south and the boat was stripped of all hardware except drives. Set in a marina for few years before sold and rerigged with big power.
Boat was then donated for ????????

I think ,,,,,,,that boat was raced by the person who had Thunderboats ?!

Yes, you are correct. He is now somewhere in your neigborhood. Saw his name in a magazine last year. He was part of a crew on a race boat down in Florida. Talented but not very smart.

Yes. That's the one. Really odd don't you think? Still a nice bit of kit though.

I wasn't sure if they added that as something to help resurface in the event of stuffing the boat or what, different though,..............very different. Here's what there ad had to say:

40' Cougar 38 special
Date of build approximate.
A Cougar 38 which came back from storeage in the middle east after very little use, had two new 1000hp Offshore Mercruisers installed with Mk6 racing sterndrives and the hull extended two feet by the builders for class compliance and extra seaworthiness. She was then stored under cover in the UK and ran very few hours (5-10?).
In new condition and an impressive machine for very fast water travel, racing or leisure.
Currently stored dry ashore in Spain.
