Ryan is correct on what I was saying the boat I was referring to was the quarter canopy boat that Lorne Leibel and Bobby Idoni raced in 89

Also once "Drambuie on Ice" just before Mr. V purchased it, he should know ! He also once owned a 41 Apache or may still have it. Originally a "Banner Boat" I do believe. :drink:

Hi there...this is my first post but for good reason. I sometimes google my family to see what's happening around the net with them. Harold "Smitty" Smith was my cousin and when googling his name, I found this thread. I was very close to Cousin Smitty and have missed him tremendously these past years. It seems like just yesterday I was down at his shop in Palm Coast checking out the 50' Cat during an engine rebuild. Man was that thing fast!

It warms my heart to know Smitty is still thought about fondly within the sport. I've got some great old pics at home. I'll see if I can track them down, scan them in, and post them in the appropriate forum. I've got quite a few "top secret" images as well which, since the boat is now decommissioned, could probably be shared.

Gonna' go check out the rest of the community now. Take care folks!

Peace!
