The answer is easy. Because they did a better job. They weren't making music videos, they were filming races. Competitive races. Why would you film a RACE and not show the boats running or hear their engines?
Yeap thats what got my attention,at lest they need to have the motor sound, then they could talk over it.The only other one was Destin when they filmed it from a air plane, that was good footage!! Rob:drink: |
[QUOTE=smokeybandit;2982970]I can do it for you. I bought a DVD/VCR just to record my race tapes. Here's some samples of the quality.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjDZ9JsZz-0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNZ5eAjERGc What software did you use to download your DVD's to Youtube? I have DVDs created from old tapes, but don't know how to download them to Youtube. |
I agree with you guys that go for the original soundtrack - I can't abide the obligatory rock track (why is it always rock?!) that accompanies so many vids on you tube etc. I think that one of the reasons most folks who are into motorsport are into it is because of the noise - that's the only music we need!

I used Microsoft Movie Maker to save them on the computer. Not the best, but it gets the job done. Although, Phil keeps telling me that the speed is too fast. I told him that I was just going faster than he remembered and that Rich's voice was higher back then. After all, it couldn't be that I did something wrong.

I bumped into him in High Street, Southampton (UK) and he had time to chat to me - didn't know me from Adam but I guess he realised I was a fan. He was a gentleman. This pic from KW 94 - the time you speak of I think.
