Here are some more pics of the 44.

It has been good to get some of this sorted out. I will chase my friends some more to get more info on the other unknown boats.

There are some good stories behind all of these boats. I am trying to piece together what we did year by year photo by photo. I have 20 years and 1000's of photos. I am not sure what I will do with it when I am done but more then likely we will add it to our website.

Default `Shifter` pics

Please be encouraged to scan your pics so they will be always
stored as needed.Fungi attack to slides pushed me into scanning them,and then `Little Nige` encouraged me to put them on the `Boatmad `site.I had already spent many years tapping out the race results as the records in mags etc were a bit of a shambles,and this led me into compiling builders lists to accompany them,and now photo lists to accompany the builders lists.But like most things,the more you know,the more you realize how little you know,and one is constantly updating as new info comes to hand.It`s virtually a full time job sometimes as you can get really locked into it.Black Tornado knows all about the problems researching ,scanning,downloading,correcting etc,etc,so it`s a toss up which one of us keels over first.
If you look on the `Boatmad` site (multimedia),all those old 60 & 70`s films are from my collection,a lot of which I took on Super 8 and made into 20-30min films.The colour had kept quite well considering they are nearly 40yrs old.
So we look forward to some interesting info in the future.

To be of help to put a little bit of order in the memoirs of shifter here the partecipations of Edoardo Polli to the Viareggio-Bastia-Viareggio from 1990 to 1993 from my slides;

Preface-the first Codecasa cat in April 1990,in front of one of the three yards of Codecasa in Viareggio.

for the race of the 1990 Edoardo Polli brought two boats, the new cat 4 engines Codecasa and the cat ex Martini Bianco of Renato Molinari. He will race with the Molinari.

VBV 1991; Polli with only one 4 engines now painted in black. Cirilli with the modified first Codecasa.

1992 ; Polli again with the old Molinari cat with the deck totally changed. No 4 engines cats.

1993; the race wasn't cancelled because the weather. Polli with the red 4 engines only.

Here are some from Sardenia 1990. This was saturday afternoon post testing. This was a result of a high speed turn to the right 140 plus. It hooked flew in the air backwards and rear stuffed. I watched it happen then raced down the mountain to the harbor, Stole Notreals small 7 ft rib with my brother, Caseraghi, and one of the rainbow mechanics. A guy with a big video camera was trying to get in t with us so I lit the motor slammed it in drive almost chucking everyone out the rib ditching the video guy and sped across the harbor to polli's yacht that had a 25 ft tender. I bounced off the two yachts and unloaded them onto the tender asking them to pick me up at the mouth of the port after I dumped the rib. They drove right by me and went out to help. Caseragi asked my brother" who was that lunatic." my brother never answered. Lino had a cut on his chin and that was the only injury.

That was a long day. Aloni asked if we could get the boat running for the race the next day.......
