Default Rare Aronow Racing photos

HORBA has put together some rare original photos of Don racing 7 of the various boats that he competed in the 60's.

One photo still has the original PR blurb pasted on the back, when Don won the 1969 Bahamas 500.

As far as we know, this is the first time a group of original racing photos have ever been assembled.

e-bay under sports collection photos. Item number: 190304553947

Great photos...any chance of making some posters of old race photos?

With vintage sports cars, there's all kinds of stuff but there doesn't seem to be any good posters of old offshore....I'm sure they'd sell very well.

Default # 4 boat

Is the #4 boat with the dark hull a Magnum ...is it a 29-9 ? Looks like the same deck and hatch confiagration,as well as a two seater. If I could see a larger photo of it I will be able to confirm. Bud

Default Don Aronow photos /Locate Jim Armington

Thanks on the reply on the photo...still have not found a cockpit ,top shot so we make a correct hatch and cockpit.Boat is with Roger Munn in Naples he has looked at the engine and it has been rebuilt. The 29-9 looks like it was set up for twins and then converted back to a single.Roger thinks it might be the one he and Billy drove and threw a flywheel thu the hull.

If any one knows how to locate Jim Armington or his son out of Cuyahoa Falls Ohio that would be greately appreciated. Bud

Default 29-9

I found some old paper work that allowed me to locate the phone number of Jim Armington who resides in Peninsula Ohio and owns Buckeye Sports. Spoke with him today and he has photos that will help with the restoration of the Magnum 29-9.He also indicated that this hull was pulled from a mold that could produce up to a 34 ft Magnum which was what Billy and Roger drove.
