Nice ride, congrats. Could you post some pics?
Thanks: Matt

What kind of drive?? If your starting from scratch go with a 2" High X Dim (I'd Go 3" but 2 is good for you) and yes thats one he11 of a rough water boat.

Now I have the cash but it's gone, so I'm still looking.

Martini

I have a 1980 26' Martini with twin 350 small blocks. Alpha drives, one is counter rotating. Rare i've been told. Sitting on a trailer. Thinking of selling, however not sure of what its worth.

Mark did'nt you have that same exhaust on your 32' Active Cat that was Andy's signiture exhaust system !

schmiddy 12-31-2009 01:30 PM

I'm used to seeing one 4bbl on a big blower, but not dual quads on a little blower, ive never seen that, Is that a 250?

BAD BAD news looks like the tune up is gonna get a bit more extensive oil filter has a lot of metal flakes in it looks like it was coming from the MSD distributor gear so out comes the motor take a look at the cam and such fingers crossed hopefully its just a new cam and gear and some gaskets will see

It is usually just the distibutor gear, hopefully it did not tear up any bearings !

Hopefully he caught it in time. That why I like to put a Oberg oil filter in line, you can find things out before it's to late. Spark, I seem to remember that Jim  [Mr Awsome] when his shop was at 12mile & M97 rigid a blue Martini, it might be this one????? I knew of only two Martini's here the other one was the white 26' [Cocane] :drink::drink:

floatingphil 01-14-2010 11:15 AM

martiniboat's (Brian K.) 26 was a blue single, but not this boat.

Just hope that TRS is in good shape... You'll really be cryin' the blues if that thing is busted...

26MartiniMan 01-14-2010 10:31 PM

actually right before the boat was put in storage the drive was gone thru so hopefully it is

26MartiniMan 01-18-2010 07:34 PM

Well looks like it will be at least a new Distributor and a new Cam hopefully the Crank bearings are ok

wjb21ndtown 01-18-2010 11:54 PM

Is it smart to run the bronze gear in a marine app. to save the cam, or is there some problem with that?

26MartiniMan 01-22-2010 09:49 PM

i have no idea

It is a good idea,Performance boat motors usually get torn down often, It's good insurance to put a new one each time or every other time.

26MartiniMan 01-30-2010 08:35 AM

Well new cam is going in and the motor is going back in then I will start looking for new distributor and looking for a pair of clean 400-500CFM dual quads

gypsyroamer 01-30-2010 04:56 PM

Your boat was built by the Bower Brothers in Miami. They built a rock solid boat all hand laid. They closed after a few years not because of lack of sales but because they were catering to a certain market the Feds were watching. They reopened a few years later under the Corsa name. Same great boat. They also built a 31 and 41 under the Corsa name. You have a rock solid hull and it has a great heritage.

26MartiniMan 01-31-2010 06:34 PM

I am really looking forward to running it this damn motor is kinda breaking my budget but I think its gonna be a bad ass rig when I am done so I think it will be worth it

Are you still looking for a dual carb setup? I have an extra 750 cfm merc carb, but you're probably looking for something with a little more kick...

26MartiniMan 02-02-2010 03:42 PM

Yeah I am looking still really would like a decent set of 600's but a big single may be the way to go really what do you guys think

Dregsz 02-04-2010 11:37 PM

I'd dump the blower and go with a 496 stroker kit, big hydraulic roller cam and single carb.
But that's just me. I like KISS motors

I personally prefer a big single carb. They're way easier to tune, you don't gain much by running duals, and it's usually cheaper to buy one good carb than two smaller carbs.

I am assuming this was the plug for the newer 26' with the splash rail around the top of the hull. Bought it from eastern airlines liquidation sight unseen. It had a 1/2 to 3/4 of gel coat faring material on it and a piece of wood with a million screws for the spalsh rail in it. It took a ton of effort to sand it down, but turned out good. It's good point was there was a brand new ls7 motor in it with rotten merc accessories hiding it.
