There was an Apache race headquarters in Freeport NY.

Maybe you could point a newbee in the direction of a previous thread that may have been discussed before they joined. maybe the thread will provide the information.I was just wondering if the guy I worked with was the same family.

Funny thing happened to me today I recieved a private message from Bobby Saccenti with his cell number to call him. So I called . It turns out It was his father that I worked with. We talked about his dad and Apaches for quite a while. He said his dad was a tshirt theif every time he came to the shop in NY where Apache was started he took some. Unfortunately his dad is no longer with us but he moved to Fla near Bobby before he passed. Louie was very proud of his son and rightfully so. Bobby told me to lock his number in my phone and get a hold of him when i come down. He is doing a total resto on a 41 apache from france that will be done in the spring. If I time my trip right maybe I can get sea trial. I will wear my depends just in case. I learned more about apaches tonight than I could have ever imagined from the top.:evilb::evilb::evilb:

I heard back from Bobby today. Seems some folks got a hold of him today. I misunderstood part of our conversation. Correction (Apache was started in 78 in Fla). It was the Family home originally from NY then moved. Nobody misses a thing when it comes to Apache. All is good Im glad to have spoken with him I will definately check in with him when I come down. Its 17 degrees in CT right now it wont take alot of convincing to get me there. The kids are going down over christmas to visit the grandparents but I got to stay and hold down the fort.

My friend in Chicago has a 41 Apache with the 3 man bolster, he used to come to Freeport every year with the boat to cruise around the old nieghborhood, We had a few 41 Apaches at the High and Dry too, I would say they are the coolist dam boats ever made, No they are not the fastist compared to these new lightweight stepped hulls that sometimes break but , I guess because I am old I just like them from years ago ,I almost bought one without power or drives or Gimbles for 30 K , years ago , I could not swing it , too bad, if you get one keep it.The racequarters building is still there but I think its just some kind of storage bulding now , some old cars parked there .
