Wow! I love your boat- its a true thing of beauty. It was also fun watching your progress. I've done a few restorations but none to the level that you did here. Enjoy and great job!

captaintyler,
Your boat Sir is a class act, both an inspiration and an example of how it should be done. Beautiful work. Kalaazar |
Bertram Barn Value
We have just taken our Bertram out of winter storage. The way things are looking it doesn't look like it will get much use this summer. I've been contemplating putting it up for sale but I'm not really sure what its value would be. I guess its worth what someone will pay. You never see the Baron 28's for sale so there are no good comparable boats to set the price. I've seen some similar style boats from the same era for sale but they don't have the built quality as a Bertram or the customization that I have put into my boat. What would be a reasonable asking price and the best way to advertise it as I'm sure it will not sell locally up here in Maine. I'm open to suggestions.

Hate to hear your putting it up for sale, but someone will love owning this beauty. Good luck finding her a new home.

Amazing job!
I don't really know how applicable this is given the condition she is in today, but at least it is some kind of starting point. Bristol would be an insult to your boat in my opinion. www.bucvalu.com shows this as value: BERTRAM YACHT INC, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL Model Year 1970 Hull Material Model BARON Hull Configuration Length Overall 28' Draft Length On Deck Beam Boat Type Runabout | Open Weight Engine Type Inboard-Outboard Twin 200G Mercury Marine/Mercruiser Retail Price Range:* $19,600-$21,700 Area and condition are not represented in the price above. Please see the vessel condition table below, to determine how condition affects market value. Area adjustments and replacement values are available with BUCValuPro. Excellent (Bristol) Plus 15-20% Above BUC Condition Plus 10-15% BUC Condition No Adjustment Necessary Fair Minus 10-20% Poor Minus 25-50% Restorable Minus 50-80% * The information presented here is believed to be reliable but not guaranteed.
