Thats a real classic reminds me of Bob Gingolds 'Copper Kettle" 36 cig then the running bottom became the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS 37.

would think there would be some permanent hull warpage by now sitting on cement blocks like that for so many years?
|
Yeah, real good lookin boat in the left pic..
Dunno how long it's sat like that, I've seen some pics on a trailer but yes something to be aware of for sure... Still kinda wondering if it could possibly be a kevlar lay up... I'm waiting on the pics should have them before Friday... |

Somewhere in there is Copper Kettle. The 38 foot Bertram built for Sandy Satullo made of Kevlar. They didn't know how much to put in the build and the boat ended up extra heavy in spite of the Kevlar. Pretty sure that was before Larry Smith boat build. |
There was a yellow & white Kevlar 39' Cig called Big Bird on one side, & King Kong on the other side here on Lake St Clair back in the late 70's. It may have been built as a race hull but the owner never raced it. But back then that was one of the biggest offshores on the lake, how times have changed.
