Default Mercruiser special restore

The Mercruiser special, originally driven by George Morales has finally made it to our shop. It will be restored to its original for the Cowes to Torque race

Here is a pic of it now and from its past glory

That is not the boat. Mercruiser Special became Popeyes, as it was seen at the Kenner / New Orleans OSS race a couple of years ago. It belongs to a man near Ft Myers Florida. I believe the boat you have there was Tim Ciasulli's Maxon......

Out of curiosity any pics or clips or Merc Special at CTC back in the day running ?
Although this will be a replica at least it's something and this one doesn't have any dents on the deck from mrs Morales stiletto heels...

PS the back in the day pic just made as my 50" wallpaper...looking quite good

It was never stripped. Copeland bought it from Morales and it has been Popeyes ever since 1985 I believe. I know Jay Castaline had it for awhile. Cope land bought it to run in the Miami New York race and Morales beat him with his new cat.
