According to Searace Harold Quam ran a 41 Apache monohull in 1987. It's hard to tell if that photo is an Apache but it is not a Bertram that Harold usually ran and it's hard to tell from the small photo. Where did you find the photo? The number 45 is correct for Flap Jack.

Ryan:

I thought that looked like a Scarab, but is hard to tell from such a small photo.

He also ran a Cat but we know that's not it.

There you go, that was the boat from Key West. He had run a twin engine active cat in the Superboat class earlier in the year.

@ all: Thank you for the answers. The pic appeared while I was looking for other pics on a google search. Unfortunately there was no larger version available.
I have never seen that boat or heard about it before and was a bit surprised because I think there were not many made of the 43' (?). Was that boat built for Mr. Quam?

Anybody know how many of those were built? I thought perhaps at first that it was the Dietrite hull as per the pic, but unless it had major repair work done to it I guess not...!

Could it be Gentry's old Scarab? Did Tom buy it from Howard? I think Gentry started running the vee in 85.
