I didn't notice the dates at first and I guess you didn't either.
Pretty old post and even older boat. Jim Leslie appears to have joined here in May 2013 and made this one post. I'd hate to be hanging by my onions waiting for a reply!

Back then Production classes were broken up into three separate classes, but they all used 350 cu in engines.

Production class just had stock everything, motors, drives etc

Modified class allowed engine modifications but drives were still stock TRS

Sports class allowed more engine modification and speedmaster drives and headers were also allowed.

It was a great way to work your way into offshore racing a little bit at a time at a low $ entry too.

Tim was a great example of a driver and crew that learned how to race and picked the best equipment and went out and won that big number 1 for the Modified class. Well done!
