78CIG24, great talking with you last night, you've got some good stories and I'd love to see the old Cig when you get a chance.

I don't know anything more than what the ad says, other than she plans to go to the marina in the next couple days and ask them to take some pics (she doesn't own a digital camera). Note that it does not have a trailer. I haven't seen the boat, and everything I know is in the ad. I found out about this one through a guy on the 233 Registry, but after more thought about why the F3 won't permanently reside in our stable, I decided that we need to go bigger. After talking with her I realized that she knows nothing about placing an ad, much less on the internet, so I decided to help her out. The lady is very nice and quite unfamiliar with boats (her late husband was the expert/fanatic), so she won't know much more than what's in the ad. Once she gets the digital pics and sends them to me (she has to use the local library computer), I'll post them, hopefully by Thursday. I wonder if this will remain a fresh water boat or be sentenced to the brine nasty?

I spoke with her via telephone last night and can confirm what you say. She hopes to have current digital pics in a few days and what they reveal will solidify my plans. Her 233 looks just like the Interceptor in the 1980 catalog.

I just wish it was closer...1300+ miles makes it a stretch for me but I'm probably going for it.

Don't worry about that one being in the "Nasty Brine"...it will never spend a night in the salt and will get a fresh water dip after every trip to the Ocean.

It was great talking with you too! You are a pretty smart guy for a young'un ...LOL!!

Here is a pic of the 33 year old Cig Racer where I picked it up.

....and the day I got it home and went for a quick splash.

Currently taken apart cleaning every nook and cranny, oh and redoing stuff "my way" :-) Still can't believe it is solid as a rock after all these years, no rot or drama anywhere! Like the old F233s, they just don't build them like that anymore!

So YOU got Lap Dancer.... You lucky SOB!!!! I saw that boat and instantly loved it. I bet that boat is a blast!

Funny, when I first saw it online I thought it was the ugliest CIG boat ever......when I saw it in person I thought it was still ugly, in a knarly kind of way...., sort of old school "funky"!

BUT, once you see and feel it it in the water...it's hard not to like!

BTW, it is sitting within a few feet of that virgin 233 hull.....hint, hint :-)

With just a little work that 233 hull could look like this...

I have ALWAYS wanted to do a 233 like the "Cigarette"....damn beautiful!
