i was there , i was in modified class he was in open, i seen the choppers at the turn i went another 3 or 4 miles rolled it on the side blew a hole in the hull and sunk, all the med teems were so busy ill i could get was a scuba diver boat for a tow , that was some nasty water at sand key light
We put her back together and made it back to the Key West worlds in 1987.

After Big Bob K sold it [1988] she became I believe Bad To The Bone. After that around 1991 Pete Hiladgo [AMERICA DREAM] bought her added the beaks on, and raced in open class as the RAY BAN AMERICAN DREAM. Sadly in the Key West Worlds the cat flipped at the the start of the race killing the driver Peachy Perez. The crash was almost in the same spot that she sank as MOTOR CITY MAGIC. After that I heard she was seen in a boat yard in the Key's rotting away, today ??????

the boat launched and landed hard on the port side bob and john fell on me and bent the throttles over i pushed them back over bent the sticks up and kept going, the salt water was comming in and shorting out the dash inst. john said slow down and pop the hatch we slowed down and went down in 2 min. as i was yelling into the radio the water was comming up i turned and john had the raft out of the bag rip cord in one hand raft in other "hay how does this thing work" it was broke the rest is history

put it back together bob made it 1 more season money tree died and boat went by by
