hey guys, new guy on here but pretty much been on a boat since I was born.
looking at a 1986 Avanti 22 with a 350 and a alpha outdrive. My uncle owned the boat previously and then sold it to another guy here in ny. Now its for sale agian, and would like to buy it back.
Any history on these boats, whats to look out for on an older boat like this. it has around 420hrs on it. New outdrive, new interior, and roller traler. only problem is the pump/resivor for the hydrulic tabs is cracked

I had a 83 27' Avanti for 25 years they were heavy and built like a tank, not much can go wrong with the hull and deck. If your tabs are Bennett the plastic tanks list for $20 they always leak at top of seam. They leak so often we keep four in stock. I am sure you will be happy with an Avanti they may be a little heavy, but have a real nice ride when the water kicks up. Search around here and at one of the other Offshore sites there are some discussions all about Avanti's

well i went and put a down payment on the boat, after talking with my uncle this boat is still solid, only problem is the pump/resivor for the trim tabs fell off the back of the transom, and cracked, not sure if I can just get just the resivor or have to buy the whole pump assembly. Also has anyone converted a roller trailer to a bunk style
