yes my boat had 292 inlines in it.. which uses same bellhousing/starter as sbc or bbc.. the inlines actually used a front motor mount by the balancer but the hull has the stringers spaced for v,8 in other words they didnt change the boat lay out for the inlines

i cant think of the measurement off top of my head been to busy to remeber..but its spread the same as v/8 boats.. mine and sprinks have the same measurement .. im sure he will chime in on that ..

reason for asking is and im not trying to kill your buzz here but almost every side by side BB application is 34 1/2''unless your staggared..@ 34 1/2'' theirs abour 1/2'' of room between the exhaust manifolds.. you may want to measure your crankshaft center line to the outside of your exhaust manifold to be sure the big blocks are going to fit next to each other in the 255 liberator..

another buzz killer,,you need to install lifter valley baffels under the intakes to keep the oil from baking the bottom of the intakes and killing the cool fuel charge..

they fit ive already measure them before i jumped in to all this.. im not to worried about the baffles ive run many a engine just this way .. thanks for the tip though

looks like enough room to me...lol set the engines in for mock up of all the wiring and exhuast etc...
routed all the wiring tonight besides the engine harness going to drill the thru hulls tomorrow night..

I need some 6 inch risers to get the angle needed.. everything is fiting just fine.. oil filter will clear starter clears
still looking for some more good used parts though... tryin to work on this thing every night as its hot here in ky and living by the lake makes it that much worse seeing all the boats out...

debating on paintin the flame arrestor tops black.. engines look ****ty in pic due to exhuast manifolds not being cleaned up and painted and engine compartment still dirty..

I was with my friend in Ft. Lauderdale last week with his 38' Cigarette Top Gun. We were standing in the bilge and I remarked.."This isn't any larger than the bilge in my 255 Formula". I was right...that's a big 'ole bilge... boy.:evilb:

While you're playing around in there...make a mental note as to how much room we have forward of the engines. The 255's from the factory with 454's were TRS models with a Borg Warner transmission behind the engine. Jason...I really do think there's plenty of room for a 3KW gen set ahead of the engines in these boats.:evilb:

Take some good pics when you do the thru hulls. My Bravo TA's already have the exhaust blocked off and I sure would like to go out just below the rub rail with mine.

BTW...paint the Flame Arrestor tops "Mercruiser Electric Blue"

Great thread guys. It's nice that the two of you have the same project going on. Having just finished my twin 350 to single BBC 502 conversion it would have been nice to have someone with the same project going on. Now I will be replacing my blown (not in a good way) 502 in the next couple weeks. Have some friends that are going to help me out. I'm looking forward to following the rest of your progress. Keep up the good work and keep the pics flowing.
