Speaking of TURBINES.....I spoke to a very well known turbine team the other day and they don't have any open top boats with turbines.......BUT, they are currently building a 47 foot resto for a customer and that boat will have turbines.

Yes, only a few companies made 47 footers, and this one brand was always known as a "Wave Crusher"

You figure it out, but it will be a heck of an entry if they finish it in time and they come.

The overall winner last year ran with extra fuel cells and they worked great....just make sure they are securely installed, so you can make the corner at Montauk and not have to worry about them.

No, there is no limit on the number of boats.

Last year we had two helos and a couple of private fixed wing planes, that pretty much stayed with the boats and took turns sweeping up the back of the pack.

Don't forget each boat has a transducer that shows exactly where the boat is located on the course. All around the island we have local guys who will go out and tow a broken boat in to the nearest ramp. We did that last year for the Donzi that broke.

A turbine powered 47 Apache should be cool!

Looking forward to this event.

Charlie 100 miles sounds to me a lot better than 271... as I do not go over 90 I would be comfortable with that...now if we can build that turbine Banana before hand ......
