Talk to Scott Mander in Quincy, FL (Speed and Custom Marine). He used to own Intense Marine in Miami. The boat raced in C-class back in the day. I believe the smallblocks were around 500 hp. I thnik the boat ran around 105 mph. When it raced it was black w/yellow, purple and green stripes. I might have an old pic of it...have to look. It also had a canopy on it too. Cool ride!

Thanks for the info. that is exactly what I gathered after a couple days of searching all over the inter web & reading pages & pages of your old posts T2x, thanks again!

If that was Scott's, black boat, it belonged to Roger Rex and was called Zero Gravity. They used to run it in "C" class on Saturday and "D"class on Sunday, if nothing broke the first day.

Newbie here. Although I've had large powerboats for the last 8-9 years this is my first Cat.
After doing a lot of research before buying this boat I found a bit of info. I was hoping someone here could inform me with some more history on this Cat. What kind is it really?? I have had 10 different answers from ten different people haha A few of you might have seen it for sale at DFW in TX was also on Ebay for a while. Its a 1988 Image ( per the title & vin plate ) advertised as a Shadow cat. 31ft long. Said to belong to a team bandit racing & or Scott Manders *sp* Seems to have no expenses spared when build back when. Marine Machine hydraulic steering, k planes, W.P. Engines, Livorsi marine throughout the boat, super nice all aluminum trailer. Looks like it was once painted yellow with purple accent color. If you know anything regarding this boat ( good or bad ) please let me know, just curious really any pics, vid's, or just general info would be helpful !! thanks in advance......Mike http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i..._duke/Cat2.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i..._duke/Cat1.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/IMAG0135.jpg |
You can spot a Shadow a mile away. When they made the tooling for the mold, they went to California with a giant chainsaw, and cut a block of a giant Sequoia 30' long, 8' wide, and 4' high. Using old Indian technology, they lit fires in strategic areas of the log, and voila, the Shadow cat. Had they consulted with me, I would have recommended a fire or two on the outside, but that's just me.
