Tim giving his Al Copeland pose in front of his 3 Scarabs.
|
Sorry to hear about Tim. God bless him and his family
|
RIP. Do you know when he purchased the 5 boat? Some friends of mine partnered in it around 10 years ago. They purchased it from someone in TX. Rebuilt all 3 engines, converted it to 5 man bolster set up and put a new flag wrap on it. Is this the same boat? Last I was in it , it ran 123 .

Mark, I had previously read the the Tom Gentry/Don Johnson Scarab in your photo was turned into this..... |
You are right Ratman72 that was the 43 Scarab Mercruiser Lambo it was converted to a pleasure boat about 20 years ago it was in ventura Ca for many years owned by a friend of Larry Smith's. Then it went to the ST. Louis area. Lost track of it after that it was rigged with 502 EFIs and Bravo's. The number 99 Boat you posted is the same boat that we bought in Georgia last month with the number 9 on it . It raced under both numbers (9) & (99) Tom raced it as number 9 and Don raced it as number 99

Dan, what ever happened to the restoration of this boat.

I would love to see what's going on with this restore.

Nothing at this time we have finished all the glass work and were ready to start the next part of the project but as in so many cases. $$$$$$$
|
Thanks for the update. So glad Y'all are keeping Tim's dream alive. The $$$ part we can understand. I didn't know Tim but have lots of respect for anyone that's helping on this project.
