That's good news that it's still a powerboat with inboard engines & not converted to a OB center console.:eek::eek:

Ratman72 11-03-2013 12:04 PM

I hear that! I came across two 36' wide body Cigs in Florida not so long ago, one had been converted in to a cabin cruiser and the other had the transom cut out to accept outboard motors........I wept at the sight!!!

Interesting, looks like it's the real deal. Sure is a beautiful beast!

Wonder what the blue and yellow one is all about then?? I saw it being advertised for sale about 5 years ago and the description read that it was Don Johnson's old race boat..............not sure how many of them were built??

tim leslie 11-04-2013 08:23 AM

If he makes it down to Key west, that'll be at least two Magnum racers on the island. I predict Techtonic plate movment, spinning compasses, thottles mysteriously slammed open and who knows what else................

I does look like a 46 but I'm not sure........

Ratman72 11-05-2013 01:40 PM

I'm pretty sure it is the triple engined 46'..........this old OSO thread suggests there were more than one......

This is a nice picture of the 46' triple that won the worlds in ’88. I have read that Sonny Biller used to have this boat. Tim, did you buy your boat from Sonny Miller?

Team Archer 02-06-2014 01:50 AM

FYI There were only 8 flat deck 43 s build 3 true race boats and 5 pleasure poker runners. The number 5 boat is the only race boat that has not been modified and its the only built full epoxy layup. There are only 7 boats left as one of the race boats was lost in a testing accident.

Team Archer 02-06-2014 01:51 AM

All of our thoughts and prayers are with Tim and his family hope you are feeling better soon.

ironhead 04-10-2014 09:40 PM

Saddly today at 8 pm Tim Leslie lost a 4 year battle with liver and panc. cancer, we all prayed for a miracle we all wanted more in reality we all got one 4 years that was cramed with boats, a lot of laughs. Tim was a respected hard working bussiness man husband and father as well as a GREAT friend, he had the ability to turn the black cloud that followed him for the past 10 years into blus skyes and when it did rain, he could figure out a way to capitalize on it. i loved him like a brother, respected him as my tire man,and rolled many a great game of bowling with him and when i saw him last night i reminde him "your my hero" just sad to see someone go out with such a fight , he now lives on forever, and the scarab collection he has ammased will get finished as a testiment to the man and his machines. LONG LIVE HE TIMMY!!!

In the words of my brother tim "the show must go on".
I will finish his project on the 5 boat exactly how he wanted it done. It'll be heading to Team Archer in 4-6 weeks.
Godspeed Tim!!
Sure hope the All Mighty has him a scarab with blower motors & a cigar waiting on him to strut through the gates!

Sorry for your loss. I didn't know Tim personally talked a few times out on the lake and always admired his tastes in boats. Nice to hear you will be finishing the 5 boat to his liking.
