That was written to me "Joey", by the way Kitami has since passed away.

It was found by a friend sitting in a boat yard rotting away. He bought it assuming a good winter project for a good price. After getting it home and taking a closer look at some of the rigging and set up that was done was when our wheels started spinning. It was converted to a pleasure boat with some basic interior. Still with the original colors on it but no name on the side, if you still look closely from the side you can see the impressions from the old decals on the side etched into the gel coat.

Here’s a few more that were gratuitously given to us through a friend by the late Tony Caligure’s wife

I’m Blake shapiro, Alan Shapiro’s son. So happy to see that boats still in the water. That boat had a lot of wins. Any chance your dad wants to sell it?

Love that Checkmate, and the 1986 Team Scarab 26 with twins that your father raced is also a cool boat Blake.
