Andy,, Big Wave & I went by thunderboat row around November 2006 & saw all the paper work & records from Cigarette in the dumpster there, so much history & info lost.

I would like to meet pm mark. I live close by in Chesterfield Township. I have a 1975 donzi I got from my father-in-law. It needs work but I'd like to restore it so I would like to see what a nice 1975 donzi looks like and get some ideas

Being old school I would have kept that information. I was able to get owners manuals and wiring schematics from Scott years ago and have them stashed away for when people need them for early Top Gun 87', Cafe' and Bullet.

Big business ruined that at Cigarette. If your not buying new they don't want to spend the time dealing with you. Phil at Lip Ship is awesome for the old school guys. Wish he would have got dibs on that info before it was trashed. Too bad...

Is a old school reunion being planned for 2015?

Andy,, Mike Ragu took it on trade years ago & I believe it came from Mentor Ohio, any history you know of ???

This Cig 35 was owned by a good friend of mine in Mentor Lagoons Ohio. He was not into restoration. It was kept on a lift and used as an everyday cruiser. He bought it from National Marine. It was docked three docks down from where the Powder Keg was docked in the 70's.

Isn't that boat race weekend in St Clair?
That may have an impact on the event, unless the event is set up perhaps to do a run to the races in the afternoon and have a spot at a place like peppers to showcase the old race / old school stuff at the races also, just a thought

I just picked up the Drive, Transom Assemble and 540 Long Block Machine Work For the Mad Mother Magnum. Seven months of hard knocks to get to my first reunion.

Sweet I plan on being there. Any entry fee or just a brewski? Lol

hallj 05-21-2015 08:00 AM

Entry fees are applicable only to boats that are painted like tennis shoes and built with a chopper gun.

There is a very good chance that the 29-9 will be done and at the reunion,if I can keep Bob Oetringer on the project. This is the only remaining Magnum long boat of 5 made and designed by Billy Martin with help from Roger Munn.
