I recently purchased a Seahawk 26 Ranger with a 13 digit HIN. When I went to register it in Alabama the courthouse said it had to be wrong because it should only have 12 characters. I ended up making a tracing of the number to prove it and she eventually just omitted one of the zeros in the HIN to put it in the computer! Has anyone ever ran into this before? So now basically my registration does not match my boat the way I look at it.
