I love these classic offshore boats, and I would love to restore one, and build up a couple of fuel injected, naturally aspirated big blocks to be period correct. These boats may be seen as heavy and slow by today's newer boating generation, but that's missing the focus of these machines. These are true blue water, wave crushers meant to run fast in big water, not to run on smooth lakes or calm seas. They were built incredibly strong, then several more layers were added for good measure. I would much rather have a classic offshore boat than a modern boat.....unless it's a modern McManus boat.
