So i have done some looking around and i think this boat may be worth about $40,000 us if it is in good condition (ie gel coat fixed and polished up) does anyone agree with that or not? I have to make an offer on it this week and am just trying to get some opinions

It's a cool boat with a nice pedigree but outside of the various powerboat forums, I doubt anyone would understand the significance. I wouldn't call it a classic or a collectors item.
That said, for 40k I would expect it to be in very good shape. Gel coat shining, mechanically running well and no soggy transom/stringers etc. To the majority of people, it's just a 27 year old boat and with all the love in the world, it will probably never be anything more.
Only my opinion but if I were making an offer, I'd start very low.
Many knowledgeable guys on here, jump in and flame me if you think I'm wrong.

Thanks
Thanks very much. This is the feed back I am looking for. I know it is going to take some work to get it back to amazing but that is why I am trying to get an idea of value before I make an offer. Like everyone says, it's worth what someone wants to pay for it.

Carfixer I can't access any of the pictures you posted of the 37' Aronow............can you send them to my e-mail [email protected] or figure another way for me to view them?
As far as a price for the Gucci boat, what better place then to start low. it's been neglected for awhile and I'm sure nobody is rushing in with high bids...don't let your exuberance
show and play into the sellers hands......remember, everyday she sits she's losing value and the seller knows that .......The 1990 37' Aronow that was on the cover of PowwerBoat
magazine was selling in the high 30's..... whenn I saw it it was in turn-key shape inside and out and although stripped of it's big performance power back when it was water tested
presently had 502's and Trs drives.........The Gucci boat has notoriety because of the lavish and over the top fitment the arab sheik fitted her to........her popularity got around for
that reason, but make no mistake about it she is a wave crusher! ....This a quote from Bob Nordskog's Aronow 37' 1990 performance report "On the plus side, you won't find a more
seaworthy or better built 37-foot package on the market. This boat won't back down in water that would probably humble most 45-footers. The hull is superb in swells with an even
re-entry and blunt front end to absorb impact. If your destination is points unknown and you have no plans of slowing down no matter what Mother nature whips up, the Aronow 37
will get the job done"

rak rua thanks for posting the pictures!
car fixer I see what appears to be some delamination around the engine hatch (minor) paint is weathered (minor) some gauges are in need of replacement (minor) she's a little tired and worn
but it's all minor compared to .....if the hull is dry and the engines show a good leak down test & drives check out....... I see no reason not to go for it. please keep us posted & thanks for the
e-mailed pictures.
