Default Looking for info on how to get sponsors?....

I bought the old Pittman racing / KSU / Jersey boy / shogun boat...... I've been trying to get the boat put back together, but have run into a lot of snags along the way... From buying 2 outdrives that were suppose to be good and finding out that they were junk, to buying the boat with a engine and tearing into the oil pan and finding out that the bearings were shot and had to rebuild it.... Basically I'm running out of funds and was wondering how I'd go about getting sponsors?
Any help would be greatly appreciated from sponsors to finding good parts that aren't junk....To donations on any old parts ppl may have laying around....

Thank you all

First, realize what sponsorship is.

It's advertising/marketing. Its what you can do to help the sponsor sell product. So the first thing to do is figure out how you are going to make your potential sponsor money, then you need to sell him on that idea.

Phragle.... How would you go about pricing out certain areas on the boat?
I live in the Cleveland area so boating is only 6 months out of the year....

I could use a sponsor too.
I'm thinking a "sugar momma" may be the ticket.

You may want to post this in one of the racing sections. Be prepared to find out a significant number of race boats are sponsored by the owner. Others have funded sponsors but they have a level of proven event attendance and performance.

Sponsor for what??????? Do you have a race team???
Even if you did, a sponsor would need to know that you could afford to get the boat to events.
