Default Famous Donzi Race Boat “Broad Jumper” Found!

This boat has been sitting in Connecticut for the past 35 years in the woods buried. After spending the day digging it out, cutting trees down and pulling stumps we finally got it out in the sunshine. The sits on its original trailer from 1964. It’s been painted years ago. But under the maroon paint all the original lettering in there.

This boat will be restored in the near future back to its original condition. According to Brownie...this is the most winningest Donzi ever raced. What an amazing history behind this boat.

Boat was posted on another site. I drove up and had a look. Turned out it was the Famous “Broad Jumper”. An older gentleman has had it on his side yard for around 35 years just sitting there on its original trailer. It was buried in the woods basically. The trees and vines grew over and around the boat.

Their was one that came for FL. to Michigan. It had been sunk. Inboard powered. The owner pulled the motor's and tran's and had them re done. Put it all back in the boat and did a test. Had to run the motors in revers to go forward ? They looked at it and found the motors were left and right hand rotation. Woop's, so they swapped them around . Good to go,right ? NO ! Went out and tested again and both trans went out ? So out come the motor again and the tran's head to the shop. The owner gets a call from the shop and ask's why the transmission were run so hard in revers ? The owner said he did not do that. "Light Bulb" The boat also had left and right transitions !

So make sure you mark the motor and the transmission from where they came. LOL
