Yes, it is in running order and I believe that they had the boat out on the lake in Clayton, after they pulled it from the auction.

Barry Cohen has mentioned several times that he would love to be able to race in a Cowes - Torquay Race, over in England, so he had the boat restored so it would be available if he decided to race it.

It looks like Jim Wynne is all alone on the boat in this shot. His riding mechanic is on the floor with 2 broken ankles and holding on for dear life.

What was the construction of the hull ? Framed and I assume plywood or just cold molded plywood ? I know the Europeans adapted plywood and cold molding years before the US.

Tommy, " Souter on the Isle of Wight, built it using a solid quarter inch of Honduras cedar and an inch on the bottom which went from a full 28 degrees at entry to 21 degrees at the reverse transom." SEARACE

Any updates of what may become of the clone of The Cigarette ?
Tommy to bring you up to date, the 32 Cary that was to be restored to be a clone of The Cigarette, has been sold in a 3 Cigarette boat deal to Cigarette Racing Team. It was sold under certain conditions that the boats had to be restored within a time frame.

I hope they can manage to pull this off and put the boat out there to be seen again.

If I get any more updates, I will keep you in the loop.

Same here. Any boat run by Peter Rothschild is of great significance to myself. May they do it right.
