C
rious to read suggestion!
2x 300 could be a minimum imo but 2x 400 would be the best!

Thats a heavy boat w/a deep vee.

I like twins way better than triples but agree w/above on either new V-8 Merc 400’s or the 450r’s.

Youd be approx 1000lbs under twin Bravos and big blocks and close on power for Stocker’s and maybe 5+ mph faster.

Plus you could store a Smart car where the car motors used to be.

Youll want torque though and not hi revving motors w/no low end/mid range.

Triple 400’s would probably be similar in weight to big blocks but you’d have 1200 near bullet proof HPs.

what if I had tripple Johnson/ evinrude 225 s only because atm I already have 1 and found a pair that has recently been rebuilt and would be fastest way to get her back on the water while saving up for fresh new 450s

I know those motors very, very well.

What yr motor do you have?
The ‘93 and up are way better than earlier.

Regardless of yr, they are 450 lbs.

For sure you’d need three of them.

W/triples you’d be at 1350 lbs and 675 HP’s.

So compared to the big blocks it came with, you’d be 900+ lbs down w/Bravos and I think more w/TRS’s and I think it’s required transmissions??

W/triple V-6 OMCs I’d guess you’ll have a 55 MPH boat.

A good engine builder can easily add 50-75 hp per motor which would total 150 - 250 HP’s and probably 5 - 10 MPHs.

Triple Johnrudes? You've found Mr OB Sonic's G-spot.

I'm an outboard fan and like old school boats. Whatever you do, I hope you start a thread and post pics, you'll get plenty of followers and lots of good info. There's a load of knowledgeable guys here who are happy to help. Twin OB Sonic is one of them.

Good luck and welcome to OSO!
