We started laying out the seats and installed the dash and console with a piece to connect the two custom fitted since the deck on this boat is taller than our 32 which these parts are being adapted from. The seats have a carbon back which will look really badass in the boat and the seat sliders for under the seats are all marked out. The windshield looks like it will fit the lines of the boat reeeeally nicely and has a super aggressive raked back look. Next for the windshield is trimming it out and creating a custom center support for it.

In these photos you can see where we are at with the finish on the deck and cockpit.

designed as such back in 1990 for its first owner, famous offshore racer Peter Rothschild, I understand it's not for everybody. Twin or triple

used Mercury 400R motors are an affordable choice for many guys these days. Now this Comanche 42 is of course not a budget re-power,

but on a whole other level, but I believe the next gen offshore boaters on a budget would really like to follow this project.

P.S. Low profile v-bottoms of size are cool. The one on the trailer Richie Powers had built for himself in 2006 by McManus. The other is a sister boat. D.S.

The 2 boats you have pictured are the same boat just the graphics have changed and it was built in 1995

Most epic thread. Going to be a really cool boat. I'm surprised with the amount of fiberglass work and customization to not step/notch the boat. Any plans or feedback there or on the proposed power? I assume keeping the stainless marine bracket, and something of this size would need 3-4 outboards in the 400-500 hp range?

Richie Powers' personal boats.

Not sure why I wrote 2006 boat. Back in the autumn of 2007, I talked to Richie about the boat when it was for sale by Tom Cullen at Caloosa Isle

Boat Sales & Service in Fort Myers. This was Richie's take on the boat:
"Mark McManus and I have much mutual respect and have been very successful

together as a team. I had Mark build the 32` for me, as I wanted something a little different. I wanted a big sit-down boat, similar to a big 21` ski boat.

So we built the 32` custom for me in 1996. It is probably one of the best rigged boats around, even today. Unfortunately, I am such a fanatic about my equipment.

Basically, I didn`t want to use it and get it dirty or scratched, kind of an anal thing. So the boat had almost no hrs when I sold it. I think it is still in excellent

condition and would make a great boat for someone."

Richie had his Motion 30 XP cat for sale too, and offered it to me. I passed on the Aronow Legend 32, it needed more power. It had twin Mercury

225 EFI motors and only did 60 mph WOT. Since it had a pad too, being a sit-down, not ideal for 'Left Coast' ocean running. I thought it had a

straight v-bottom, but Richie said all 6 of these 32 Aronow Legend boats that David had made were done with a pad. TNT built the first 2 dual

console open ones, then McManus built this one-off closed deck for Richie with the hull's original Midnight Express 32SS deck. 3 more open

ones followed. Cats are not my thing, and since Richie worked for Motion those days, he sold his pretty quick. It was a very nice looking 30 XP

in yellow. Not long after, Richie joined Deep Impact and helped them develop and market their center-console boats.
