Condurre 269 has landed.....
I've had my eye on this boat since 2009 and I finally got my hands on it. I actually rode in this boat as I posted here a few years ago and fell in love with it. A few years, and several other boats down the road and shes all mine.
Needs interior and some clean up here and there but not too bad. I have a guy locally that will recover the seats and sunpad in all white for $1500. That'll get me on the water. My goal though is to update the rear seat to look a little newer. The dash and cabin below also will get an eventual make over.
Twin small blocks, alpha drives and crappy cleaver props. I also scored two stroker small blocks with it that are complete as well. I need some better exhaust for the strokers before they go in. I would also like to get my hands on another drive that is counter rotating. Do I just replace the lower? Or??
Heres a couple of shots

I see you couldn't stay away from the smaller fun boats, I have had a great time with the Scarab I got from you.
Yes you just replace the lower unit on alpha ones for reverse rotation, you might check out SEI lower units l think they have left hand rotation alphas.
When you get the boat ready for the water let me know I may have some props you can try just pay round trip postage
Do you still have the 47' Sportfisher?

I did the counter rotation SEI on my 269. I have had some issues with water in the drive but plan on speaking with SEI on that to see what they think. They have rebuilt it once for me already. If you have any questions I can try to answer for you.
My also has upgraded exhaust and motors etc.

Condurre 269 and 300 are actually the same boat as Carrera 30 (SS9M)
25deg V, early ones were actually built at Carrera and sent to Cobalt to finish,
most were built later at Cobalt . They are not balanced as well due to heavier cabin from all the extra stuff Cobalt added to it and the lighter lay up they used...

If its an early one it may have been laid up at Carrera in which case there would be as robust as the Carrera..
But yes the Cobalt laid up ones were not laid up as strong as the Carreras.
Only thing my cabin came with was cushions..
No couches, seats, coolers, portapotty, etc that the Cobalts had...
Another thing is the 269/300 has the deck of the 30 Carrera.
The SS8M had a flat deck,,way lighter than the 30ft raised deck.
However makes using the cabin a hunched over experience
Ill see if I can find a picture of the interior..

I have an 1985 or 1986 Powerboat Performance Reports article about the Cobalt 30 said and I quote "when it came time for Cobalt to go offshore Jim Wynne suggested contacting Humberto Picon who was boat building Carrera Marine boats in Miami. The original agreement called for Carrera to produce bare hulls with Cobalt handling the rigging and interior installation. That plan was short lived. Cobalt completely satisfied with the hull design of its prototype, Cobalt felt that the only way it could ensure the level of quality it wanted was to manufacturer the boat in Kansas. Consequently, a set of molds was purchased from Carrera and a royalty is paid each time a boat goes out the door". Again I quoted the article not my words. Anyways it is a 6 page article about the Cobalt 30.

Makes sense,,Cobalt boats have nice well finished interiors,,
the Carreras were basic and crude by comparison as far
as the fancy stuff goes.
Cabin in a SS9m is Flintstone looking next to the cabin in the Condurre 300
However when it comes to hull strength
the Cobalts were built more along the
lines of a typical family boat. Probably more than enough
for the typical boater.. Just that in the 80s the buyers of Carreras
werent typical boaters,LOL..
