We just looked at a (supposedly) 1999 Cobalt 292 bowrider. We tried to do some research on this model, but nowhere can we find any reference to this model being offered in 1999. It appears that the 292 bowrider was first offered in 2000.

Now the hull ID does end with "99" and the boat title indicates it is a 99.. I do know the 293 model with the cabin was offered in 99 and even earlier, and it looks like these models share the same hull.

Could it be possible the 292 we looked at was an early production model that they used a 1999 293 hull and simply made it a bowrider?

oh forgot you can go to Cobalts website and look up brochure archives for the models that were built for the years. It goes back to day one if I remember correctly.

The Cobalt site will give you all available information. If that doesn't work you can send customer service an email and they typically will get back with you within 48 hours- At least that has been my experience. You may just want to call. I just now checked the web site and there was a 292 and 293 in 2000. In 1999 I likewise don't see anything for a 292- there is a 272 and a 293 The website is cobaltboats.com
