CB, I saw your boat in KW and was hoping to see you for a possible ride. I have been looking at 36's and have only ridden in one. Yours looked very clean and maintained well, I met the gentleman in the other 36 but he was going out with to many people when I saw him.

I tow my 36' all over the place, sometimes 300 miles to different Lakes a few times a year. It is just shy of 45'TOL and with the axles more to the rear of the trailer it feels longer. Its best to have a (2) axle trailer IMO, with the (3) axle's, you will wear out tires very quickly in the city. I live 25 miles inland from the coast, and I store mine in a warehouse. I prefer the dryer warehouse deal, instead of the marina, less salt air beating up the hardware. Dry storage at the marinas on the West Coast is pretty pricey about $900.00 a month and it's outside exposed to the elements.

I read that this hull should be able to support up to 900hp. I'm thinking about (3) 300hp Verados :)

Don't wast your money on getting trips, the boat rides much better with
Twins, I had a 36 with tripple 300xs and I was told the boat ran better with twins and it does. Three engines are just to much weight for that boat. You will love it with 2 300V or 2 350V would be nice.

You're wrong about the ride with tripples. It rides better with them. Just can't go slow or it will porpouis. I've been on both.

Towing 40ish feet isn't too bad, but it isn't foolproof. Make sure you have the right truck for the job and make sure it has big towing mirrors. When I finally got a truck with real mirrors, I could not believe the amount of anxiety that went away.

Take a look at the Ocean Hawk we are building, much better ride and construction. I do have a used 36 Concept too.

I'd much rather buy from an established builder with 30 yrs experience than a start up, too many stories about people getting burned by builders.

Putting down a competitor is never a winning startegy in sales, especially when your trying to sell one too

underpressure 12-22-2012 10:55 AM

Not putting Concept down at all. I have sold many of them and have many happy customers. Their build quality is good and they are nice boats in calmer water. Most have beautiful paint jobs too and the look that most go-fast guys want.

We sell almost every brand of center console used, have to repair and upgrade them before sale and have been involved in the build and design of many other new brands.

You might want to do a little research on the Ocean Hawk boat. This is not a start up company at all and construction does not compare to the similar looking boats like Concept, Renegade, Avanti, Carerra... The boat is a three piece build. Just offered him something else to look at. Something I would always recommend before you are preparing to lay down 150,000 plus of hard earned money.

Ocean Hawk will be built now at the Blackwater plant, have you seen the fit, finish and construction of a 36 Blackwater? That is who will be building the Ocean Hawk. If you have seen one of these up close would understand my comment about construction difference in boats. Just like a Apache or Cigarette is different than a Baja or a Fountain. All nice boats just some are better than others. They run different in different water too.

Ride and look at the 33 Ocean Hawk and then ride the 36 Concept, one will be good, one will knock your socks off especially if there is some wave action and they will be very close in price.

I'm familiar with the ocean hawk/cig 33 so if you builiding your building it to those standards and pricing it like a concept 36 then I'm sure you'll give them a run for there money, good luck with your new venture, cant wait to see it.

Underpressure, I am going to have to agree with Pete. I will stick with Concept. They have a good reputation and they are local here in South Florida. Boating37, I think I will just roll with (2) 375V's. Groper, what kind of truck are you using to pull this. I'm guessing a F250/350 and how much are warehouse monthly storage?
