Default Best lower units for 36 with twin Verado 350's

What's the Best lower units for a 36 with twin Verado 350's. I'm getting ready to buy new motors and I'm doing some research on the lowers Mercury offers. It seems that the HD silver 1.75 lower are for larger heavier boats with 3+ motors. Or the black 5.44 1.85 HD lower. Or the standard 4.8 1.85 lower. My boat is a 2002. I think it's weighs around 6000lbs. Witch is less than half the weight of most quad engine CC's. They say the 4.8 lower is faster than the 5.44. But the 5.44 says it makes more lift and from what I hear this hull can porpoise if it don't get enough lift. If I had the 4.8 lowers do I risk blowing them up with 350 hp on a light hull like the concepts? Obviously Picking the wrong lower can considerably reduuce speeds and alter handling but I also want reliability. Opinions please....thanks. Also. What props should I use and what speeds should I see with this setup. Thanks again.

I think you would want the HD 1.75's. Particularly if you run in less than flat water. I have the 5.44 1.85's on my 30 w/300's.

I wonder if the same would apply to a 350 on a 27? I noticed that it comes with the HD lower unit and I'm wondering if its better to not have the HD on the 27. I'm guessing the extra lift would help offset the extra weight of the verado in the back.

I don't have a concept I have a renegade stepped bottom and I just switched my silver HD lowers on my 350 sci (old 350s) to the 4.88 1.75 gears every body has told me it's a 4 mph gain I know a friend with a 34 Baja that runs these lowers and zero problem so far

I can see where there would be a gain with the 4.88 gearcases due to the size. Interested to see what your results are.
