Transom

Anyone have an idea on how much it may cost to redo the transom for bravo's. I have kamma's on the boat and am considering switching to a bravo.

I would guess it to be around $2000-2500. They will probably redo the transom the same as if rebuilding a rotten transom and then have the tech you are using to install it cut out the hole for the transom assembly. It will depend on who you have do it and their hourly labor rate too so that can vary up or down.

I would assume the X dimension could be different requiring the motors to be raised/lowered to accomadate the bravo's....are you really sure you want to do this????

Not sure, but I am worried about the availability of kaama parts and hp limit of the transmissions.

I've never seen a Kaama so take this for what it's worth, there are a number of threads about Kaama's here and on other forums. Seems I've read the Kaama's are stronger than Bravo's (I think everything is!!) and the internal parts are primarily off the shelf items.

Thanks, I will search the forum.

Like T500 said the parts are available at most auto parts stores. There are a few guys that have manuals for them on the board that may be able to help ya out. The only bummer on those is the boot. If the boot goes or you hit something and crack the case then you are done. I would think that if you put on the Bravo's you will slow down a lot also.
