back to the subject (for now :D)
Do you have any pics of the windscreens you had made? another thing to keep in mind when mounting an F-16 style canopy is the intended level and type of safety. there are actually two schools of thought on the strength of the mounts. MTI actually mounts their open pleasure type canopy's somewhat lightly. The thought is in the event (God forbid) that there is an accident the screens can sheer off rather than act as a hard edge that can kill very easily. Full F-16 canopies can not be used in racing unless they have a top cover for this reason (and several others). My personal thought is if i were to use this type of windshield in a non racing application i would want the ability to have them sheer off in an accident. |

by the way can you enlighten us on the canopy/windscreen mounting issue. i remember the light method for mounting that you were telling me about it in my shop that one time. You were saying how Randy does not put a great deal of strength in that structure on pleasure boats. |
i missed my 2 minute window... damn...
and i wouldnt call it light, but just less fasteners and not epoxied in like the race ones... still isnt gonna feel good. |
