Default Engine Hatch

I'm wanting to build a light weight engine hatch for my cat. If I were to use a 1.5" thick nidacore honeycomb panel, what is the best way to finish the sides?

will it be raised with flat sides and top? or flat and the edges needing finishing?

Nida core has a handbook available with instructions on edge finishing of their structural panels. most of it is on their website as well. What panel are you using?

they have a promotional offer right now for a free gallon of one of their Nida Bond fillers ($25 shipping but still not bad) you will most likely need APC or RFC

Thanks Dave, was thinking 1.5" h8pp prefinished ready to use panels. The hatch is flat with only the sides to finish.

Nida core is now offering a free 106 page Technology Handbook / Sample Pack which is a very nice sample pack there TEL 772-343-7300 and just by chance if you decide to give them a call tell them that you saw there ad for the free sample in Professional Boat builder which is a trade magazine for those working in design ,construction and repair.
