is it on a flat area or does it involve strakes?

The flat area in my V. It would be nice if there was something like drywall mud that you put on with a trowel and sand smooth. But I don't think it will be that easy.
Next question I will be asking is about adding length to my strakes.

OK, so I just spent 3 hours laying under my boat sanding most of the hook out of the bottom.(I do not envy anyone that does this all the time) Now I have about an 1/8"-1/16" to fill in now. Is there anything at west marine that I can used to fill in the low spots?
This or a West systems filler?

lol, welcome to my world. I just spent the last week under a Checkmate Convincor doing a big repair
You would be fine with that but i prefer 3M's Premium Marine vinylester fairing filler. Sands pretty good and is ok for below the water line.

if i were going to use an epoxy system this is the one i like

Since we're talking about fairing fillers, what do you think about "Mar-glass" it's also water proof, but with the cheaper resin polyester..........I have alot of surface gouges to the underside of my Magnum and was thinking of using this...........it's a 1/4 the price of vinylester - what's your thoughts?? htt://www.sjdiscounttools.com/mar01160.html

Rookie ....you will be fine with that filler considering you do not have much to fill anymore or the one i recomended in my first post that is made by Adtec which is a filler used at most boat co's and.... or.... the one dave recomended which is also made by Adtec and that filler is a light brown in color and just curious are you going to re spray jell over the filler and if you decide to use epoxy are you aware that epoxy and the jell will not be very compatible towards each other ?

Next I am going to experiment with adding to the lifting strakes. They definitely need some more length added to them.
Thanks!

So I spent another hour today sanding the hook out of the strakes and chines. Holy Crap! what a smoother and softer riding boat, it carries the bow so much easier. I gained about 3 mph at cruise and almost 2 mph top end. I have not filled the rest of the hook in yet but I wanted to see how it ran with just sanding.
