2lb is probably what was in there that you took out. Like dave said no way you want to go with 8lb it will cost a fortune. 14 pound you can almost tap it is so dense.

I finally hit dry wood..... at the dash!
I am going to add a real bulkhead here and start working back. The foam came out in huge 1-2ft pieces until I got to the dry stuff. I used a long piece of aluminum flat bar like a butter knife. I drove it into the foam and worked it to each side to cut large pieces.
Hopefully a full day of sanding and squaring off, and I will be ready to start in the other direction.
