With the shop cleaned up and a good amount of dust cleared out I was ready to continue........... Then I found out the furnace would not stay lit... I did however get some glass work done before I needed it. I did get the holes speaker holes filled on the removable floor....

After spending the Holidays back at home, I got back to the project in January. This was the beginning of 2011 and I was still ambitious to get it finished for summer..
I started back on the outboard cut out. You would think I was done with this already but, I only worked on it on weekends and a few hours after work... Also, I was learning as I went... I was still not happy on how it was looking. It still needed more filler... Luckily I bought more over the holiday break.. I used the foam board to once again find out how much I needed to build it up.. After a bunch of filling & sanding, I was happy with how it Looked.................................... But, I knew the finished product would not hold up! This is when I really had the come to Jesus moment! It looked perfect but, I new it wouldn't work. There was more filler in that one part than all the projects in a high school body shop class! I decided to cover it with PVA and make a mold of it. Then cut out all the work I did. My only regret at this time is I did not make any structural backing to the glass to make it rigid. If I would have done this, I think I would have saved Glass Dave a bunch of grief........... |

Thanks Scippy! I couldnt scuttle it.. I love boating/boats to much. I lucked out that the hull had no coring.... I think I would have cried if I discovered that! I would love to see the build on your 27. They are one cool, one of kind boat. So, I have to ask, are you in brooklyn? Were do you work on the boat? My wife lived in Greenpoint for 2yrs. I had a blast there every time I visited.
