I see a lot more custom one off paint jobs and am wondering what kind of paints they are useing on them? I cant see it being the same base/clear they are putting on cars or is it? I have heard of people that use imron bc its anti fouling. I know auto clear is not and has to breath. Lets hear the inside scoop.. brands and types please..

It's just auto paint. Whatever system they have in the shop. PPG, Dupont, Spies, SW etc... Formula still uses Imron.

Most of the custom paint are just BC/CC i like PPG and Dupont . i think more costom paint guy doing alot of graphics are useing PPG base with 2021 clear thats what im going to be useing on my boat here in the next month on the cusyom paint job im doing on mine.

Acrylic Enamels work great for solid color shoot & House of Color has some beautiful product for multi color ,fades and seems to hold up very well.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I wasnt to sure how the base clear would hold up. I'm thinking on giving the advantage an updated paint job.. water line up. I have already redone the dash and gauges, made custom side panels with a killer sound system. But a new paint job would make her look real nice. Any and all advice is more then appreciated.
