I did this on a plywood seat mount and it cracked, which can absorb water. On the other hand manufacturers do it every day. A good compromise would be buy some cheap ass thin fiberglass cloth, spread it over the bottom of the floor and just coat it like you were going to do in the first place. The cloth is so thin the resin soaks through it in a hurry. I typically would not do the soak thru method on any structural repair...but to protect the bottom of the floor it works great
