This is a 35 fountain that has two areas that are located right at the corner of what Fountain calls the notched hull. The one is directly under the drain plug and the longer chipped/cracked gelcoat is about 4" to the left of the drain plug. As the pictures show the one is about an inch long (the one with the quarter) and the other is just a little smaller in diameter. My concern is over time in the water is water going to creep into the hull and cause structural damage. I feel comfortable that I can repair the gelcoat.
So my $64,000.00 question is would you buy this boat?

Neither of those cracks would appear (from your pictures) to be "structural." It looks more like that area bumped into something - fairly common at the transom - and fractured the gelcoat. That said, even a "cosmetic" breach of the gelcoat can lead to water getting into the underlying material and that can be bad. I'd get a surveyor to check the transom with a moisture meter. If it checks out fine, then buy the boat and get the gelcoat repaired immediately.

I would take it to someone that knows boats and have it checked out. Surveyors are probably the least knowledgable people you can find when it comes to boats. Norm @ Bay Performance is pretty good if the boat is local.
