Default Chips in clear coat

I did a search but couldn't find anything specific. Would like to repair these dings/chips in the clear coat, Pic is a close up and largest one is about the size of a quarter. Not looking for perfection, just want it to look good 6 feet away.

I have done minor paint repairs but never cleared. I used single stage paint made to match, got all loose paint off, sanded the rough edges and painted the area and blended(not sure that is the right word) as I got further away using a touch up gun, Then I wet sanded it to get it so it was almost unnoticeable. But, the clear seems to be pretty thick so not sure if that is the best option. Any pointers are appreciated.
