Firstly, the seller is a great guy, he’s sending me lots of photos, including pics of the things most people wouldn’t want you to see.
Transom has a decent crack in the port side corner of the splashwell, pretty common I expect. Trouble with rebuilding the transom, I think the deck would need to come off and that might make it too much effort. Replacing the floor is more straightforward. Transom crack https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2c15e2637.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1e6fbb723.jpeg inside transom, it doesn’t have a full beam transom, only a center piece because the pods/swim steps are empty. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1b59a22fa.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b7d8f1c75.jpeg Here’s what the transom looks like from outside (pic from the web) https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...22e2210fb.jpeg RR |
Also has a crack on the very top of the deck next to the passenger seat. Photo looking down on the crack from above and another close up. Once again, if this is significant, it might mean ‘deck off’.

Rak, this looks similar to what you would see on a bass boat. Very common issues, I have seen a couple of guys that pull the back 1/4 of the deck, cutting it in a small area with some access to the back side through the gunnel. With the floor out and the back section of deck off, you could do a nice repair. I would probably beef up the kicker supports to the transom as well. Good luck and take lots of pictures.

Just letting you all know, I have passed on the boat for the moment. If I haven’t found something else in a few months time and this one is still available, I might give it another look. It’s complicated buying a boat overseas and importing to Thailand, the shipping and importing costs more than this boats asking price but that’s just a fact of life. Many other complications to deal with here and I don’t want to waste my effort on something I can’t get completed perfectly.
Thanks for all the good replies, I’ll update here when/if things change. RR |
