Re-painting the cockpit floor
I have a 1993 35 Sonic and my cockpit floor is scratched up and I want to repaint it or put some sort of non-slip epoxy on it....new carpet is running about 800 bucks
Anyone have any suggestions or cheaper marine carpet guys? I was wondering if the stuff you put on your garage floor would work?!

You can sprinkle sugar or salt into the paint when it is drying. You can also sand off all the paint and use poly or epoxy and do the same. There are a few paints that have non skid in them. I beleive Interlux makes one. Run a bunch of tests and you should get something you like.

I'm redoing the whole boat and used it in the bildge before putting in the new fuel tank. I didn't really care how it turned out because no one would see it. I applied it with one of those cheap, throw away brushes and believe it or not the paint layed down nice, didn't leave brush marks and looks like it was sprayed. I'm going to do the engine bildge the same way. It was a 1 part polyurathane. A friend spayed his center console floor with a bedliner product. Added a color, came out pretty nice.
