So I went out for one last go and half way across the lake I heard a loud squeel and then she shut down. The smell of burnt oil and wont turn over any more.
Looked at the dip stick and milky oil was found. I am at least glad i have the winter to get this fixed vs this happening first time out in the spring. So anyone know of someone in MI to have a look at this. I am not sure what exactly happened (oil pressure was fine) and what can be done to have it fixed. Hopefully I can rebuild. Please advise

Sounds like a blown head gasket caused the milkshake , which in turn caused a sieze up on main bearings
it will take a tear down to see if the crank is turnable , and if the rings scored the cylinder walls
assuming its a 330hp 454 , you should be able to get away with a normal rebuild , turning the crank 10/10 , boring the block 30 over , new pistons etc etc
or just buy an engine from one of the guys here in the classifieds , 600hp would make that islander fly

I hope I can rebuild what I have. Not sure if the motor has been bored. Its a TCM motor out of TX. or at least they did the last rebuild. If its the original motor it was a MAG. Not sure what s in there now. Has rpm performer intake and quadrajet carb.
600 hp may be a bit much but I would like to get 500, no matter what I end up doing.(new engine or rebuild)

I would take it to Tyler. Just tell him how much power you want to make and he will tell you what it will take to do it. Fast turn around and great service.

The most common cause of water in oil is exhaust failure. Intake manifold is second. head gaskets typically fail between the cylinder & water jacket.
What manifolds are on it?
As far as rebuilding, if it's a spun main, there's a possibility that it can be align bored, provided the original builder didn't get too tight on deck clearance. Typically the heat of the seizing cracks the crank. The rods weren't getting oil either. Neither was anything else. I wouldn't try to reuse the cam & lifters. Also, there's a good possibility there's crap in the oil cooler- why take a chance reusing it? (unless it's a tube-style)

Like Chris said. When you spin a bearing you will have metal EVERYWHERE. Do not forget to replace the oil cooler and lines also. People think they can clean them.
