I am going to replace my gimbal rings on my Bravo I's. Should I repair....or replace?

Does anybody have any good ones they want to sell?

Thanks

Replace!!! not something you want to worry about failing at any speeds. I dont care who repairs them they will never be as good as new if welded on.If there rebuild is just bushings and paint thats different!!

From what I can tell, there have been many happy customer's with Ron Benders weld repair.

Never heard of anyone having problems.

Their website is http://www.jrmarine.com/

Oh, I replaced mine when it was worn, but I'm an anal retentive kind of guy with more money then sense.

Not looking to knock anyone that does repairs but cast aluminum only gets weaker next to the repair.Been there done that. I guess it also depends on power and style of boat..My 2 cents is safety first.Call Mercury and see if they repair!!! If it breaks and someone gets hurt or killed I bet Rons insurance wont cover the damage..And your boat insurance will reject coverage also once they find out it was not repaired back to factory spects..

Replace the fragile cast aluminum with stainless steel.

$1095 plus about 100 for the new hardware kit. Try wearing out that one. My safety as well as my passengers are worth the extra $. Besides, as I stated----I don't have to worry about replacing it. If I had and coin, I would replace the whole drive with their unit.

What he said. Question is: Why doesn't Merc make a HP version in SS? Answer: Replacement parts business pays better.
