Head Question!!

Hi i'm building a 496 stroker and have found these heads for a good price do you think they will work . they are edelbrock 308cc heads with 119cc combustion chambers they are cut for 2.250/1.888 valves. the part # 15100010. If the 308cc are too small can you suggest any other heads. thanks for the help.

I have a 489 stroker. I use Large Oval 820's with 2.19/1.88 valves. Are these Large Ovals or Rectangular? Unless you have a 540 or run real high RPMs the Bigger ports are not nessesary. If you run to large of a head for you engine you will actually hurt your low an mid range. If you are going to upgrade your cam call RMBuilder before you do anything. He will give you good advice.

Those should work pretty well for a 496.

I run large ovals on my 496 but I had them install 2.25/1.88 valves with 11/32 stems in mine and mine are cast and run great
