Ya the steam problem i think it was the water coming out of the water tower was around 45 (bc i was run n on earmuffs) and the lake was about 55 and i never saw steam and temp was 150ish now its jet performance issue. Anyone think what i should set time at its been 34 36 38 from everyone on here. Also 5500 5600 rpm is that to much to run. Hope to get right prop and get some speed. THANKS

Try them all and see which one works best.I have high performance big block chevy books that say 38 and I have mercury manuals that say 36.Remember this is total advance.Do you know what main jets you have in that holley.Should be 82-84's. 55-5600 rpms should be fine as long as you don't run it there all day.Short periods only! You will need to see how many rpm's it will turn at wide open throttle to determine the prop you will need.Rule of thumb is for every 1 inch of pitch you increase it slows the engine 200 rpm.what drive do you have?

X 2 that is A safe number to run at, [IMO] Or just set the base timing to specs at idle normaly 8-10 [BTDC] You might find the numbers on the top of the stock flame arrestor, And just let the IGN module do it's job, Then once set Just use the timing light and rev the engine up and watch how Hi It advances on It's own and see if that is good enough for you.
I believe your idle should be at [740] rpms Good luck with it in any way you end up doing it.
